Monday's come quickly don't they? Sorry if you looked for my Monday Morning Musings on Monday only to discover nothing had changed. Sorry for the delay. It won't happen again. Well, I hope it won't happen again.
Thanks to you who posted comments to last weeks blog. I loved hearing your heart. Feel free to comment about this week's blog as well and get the word out to your friends and family about this blog if you think it is something they would enjoy.
Part of my hope in doing this blog is to engage you in thought and conversation about issues relating to the church and more specifically, worship. Here at Southsided, it seems God is visiting us in deeper ways during our coorporate worship experiences. This week, I'd love to hear from you about any or all of these several random questions relating to our times of worship.
How do you know when God is speaking to you in worship? How do you determine if it is the Spirit of God moving in your heart or simply an emotional moment due to the high note at the end of the choir piece or a solo or tears after an especially moving video clip or testimony, etc.? How do you sense that it is God at work in your Heart? What difference does our worship make in your heart during the week? Are you experiencing growth in your personal life in this are of worship?

I usually feel as if there is a bright light shining on me. I feel warmth and peace yet like I have goose bumps. My heart is full of joy and excitement yet there is fear of the one that is there. At the same time I am perfectly comfortable with anything that I need to say to Him. The difference these feeling make is that the week, no matter what is going on seems easier to handle. I do think that I am growing everyday and learning. It gets easier each day to give Him my problems and concerns. I am trusting Him to lead me down the path that He wants me to go. Although it is hard to accept at times I trust that He will be there with me.
When God brings a certain thought or situation into my mind, then I know he's speaking to me. It's usually and "AHA" moment, when a portion of the music or a portion of Bro. Delton's message makes me realize "THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG" or "THAT'S IT"! It leaves me with one of two feelings: 1)a warmth and joy deep in my heart; or 2) a feeling of great remorse because I've failed HIM.
If there's ever a time when I think that attending our worship services wouldn't make a difference, all I have to do is miss a week, and I'm anxious to get back. There was a time when I didn't feel connected to the choir, like I was just another warm body or a seat filled. God showed me differently when I was stuck at home with my broken ankle. It may not make a difference to anyone else if I'm there, but it makes a difference to ME! I may not be able to do much while I'm off with this next surgery, but God has told me that I can STILL be in the choir and I can SING (even if it's not all that good). Love all of you! Way to go Bro. David! Gloria
There is no other feeling like the one you get when you know God is speaking to you!! Sunday when the choir did their special, He got all over me!!! Now I'm not that much of a hand raiser, but I believe God would have ripped it off,if I had not lifted My hands to Him in glorious worship
Sunday morning worship was a time of excitement - - you could feel it when we entered the choir loft and see it when the choir sang - - on the faces of the choir and the faces of the congregation. When I sense God's presence in my own heart - - he gives me a sense of calmness and "peace". The same calmness you feel when you are at home with family and loved ones.
When you have a heartfelt service on Sunday and have spent time with the Lord - - it starts your week off right and you anxiously look forward to your next time at church. I believe you are also anxious to tell others about your experience. I know I told several about the excitement of the service and how happy I was to see the pews at our church starting to fill up again. You also find yourself longing to have more times in his presence - -
