This is the first post to SBC Ministry Musings. I'm excited to offer this opportunity to our Church family and friends to chat about ideas, issues, thoughts, concerns relating to areas of worship, music, ministry, life, etc.
I'll post comments or questions on Mondays and will monitor posts throughout the day. I'll not be commenting on individual posts throughout the week, but will assimilate thoughts shared and respond with ongoing comments the following Monday.
Please share you heart kindly and with sensitivity. This blog is intended to build up the church and encourage all. Agree or disagree, but always in a spirit of love and consideration. Have fun with this and let's see what benefit it offers.
Today, I'd love to get your take on our times of worship. Specifically, I'm wondering if you are finding moments in our worship experiences where you are truly worshiping rather than going through the motions. Talk to me.
Worshiping Him-Loving You,
David

Yesterday morning was great. The choir special and all the particular songs picked out just "fit."
I too enjoyed the times of worship yesterday. It seems more and more of our folks are freeing themselves to worship. The Lord is seeking thsose who will worship in Spirit and Truth and I think we are seeing more of that at Southside. Praise the Lord.
Yesterdays Worship and Sermon were Great!
I was sick yesterday and could not make the service's, but I do enjoy the worship times as they are. I really have been enjoying the specials as of late.
Yesterday had two great services. I really enjoyed Denise's special. It really spoke to me with all that is going on in my life now. The sermon also seemed like it was just meant for me and my family. I also enjoy the friendlyness that I have experenced in a "BIG" church. Not many churches are as friendly and outgoing as southside. Love you all.
The one thing I miss the most while at college is my home church and the church family. It is a real commfort and joy when I can come home and be a part of the services again. It is nice to come home to a bunch of open arms. Love ya all.
I have really enjoyed the services and specials the choir has done. I like Brother Delton encouraging the congregation to participate for example - - by saying - stand up when the choir was singing "Stand up" on Sunday. Also, when he has the congregation raise their hand/arm when a new person joins the church. That's one way to get people moving!
Anytime you can get the congregation involved it is good! I enjoy the use of visual aids - - such as the puzzle - - or drama - - it seems to add to the service - - and would like to see more of it.
The songs and messages have blended well and seemed to be geared toward what we need to hear. Thanks to everyone involved!
I always enjoy our worship services. I always feel that God is among us and that everything falls into place just as it should. It is just as if that puzzle piece that Bro Delton gave everyone is fitting together and creating a beautiful picture of Christ and his people together.
It seems that every Sunday service
just gets better and better. I feel the Spirit moving even more lately. The music/worship time is most definitely of God, and ties the sermon and specials together so well. I thank God for the ministry of this church and all our staff.
